If you want more health, more wealth, more time…
Living a happy and balanced life is a vast topic with many worthwhile and interesting branches, but for this article we will focus on how a fit life includes financial fitness and wealth. We will also touch on THE NUMBER ONE THING that most people are lacking that keeps them from living the life of their dreams.
My favorite thing to do is help people achieve a healthy and wealthy life built around whatever they’re passionate about because I have seen over and again, the power it has to transform not only your own life but also the lives of those around you. And, when there’s positive transformation going on, it’s contagious.
We all want more health, wealth and time. Well, most of us, if we’re honest. Some people say they don’t want or need a lot of money. Well maybe that’s true, but it’s like saying we don’t need a lot of energy.
Money is energy. It is currency… a current or unit of energy. Currency is flow, and flow is freedom.
The root word for currency comes from Latin ‘currens’, meaning
From exercise we have energy.
With energy we have freedom.
With fitness we have health.
With health we have wealth.
These are core components of an empowered life. If you have these but not yet financial wealth, then that’s the next step.
Exercise generates energy.
Exercise generates energy and flow in our life. So can wealth. So does living our dreams.
Some of the most positive and upbeat people I know are fitness professionals. Are they into fitness because they’re positive, or are they positive because they’re fit? I guess that’s a chicken and egg question because it can go either way and I’ve seen both scenarios.
But exercise and fitness leads to energy which leads to a “can do” attitude, which often leads to belief in oneself, perpetuated by persistent effort and followed by success and wealth.
We get that exercise is up to us. To be fit, we decide to exercise. We choose to be fit… we choose our health… we choose ourselves. Similarly, our wealth is up to us.
If we work for someone else, our wealth is in someone else’s hands, and it’s the rare job that leads to wealth.
Currently, 69% of still working Boomers have money saved or invested for their retirement, while just 50% of already retired boomers have money saved.*
This is where we at Boomers Reinvented say: Don’t retire, reinvent! Rekindle your passions… turn hobbies into revenue that will support you while doing work you love. In today’s market, it’s possible… and it’s fun.
If You Were Wealthy Would you be More Healthy?
Overeating and fat is not natural. In nature, animals are not fat. It’s only domesticated animals living a domesticated life that mimic their owners in excess body fat and decreased muscle mass.
What is natural for our bodies is movement. Lots of movement.
Yet for most of us our work is mentally active but physically sedentary. This leads us away from our nature and balance, and if we don’t love our work it’s worse, because we’re more inclined to snack on stuff to get through our day.
If you’re working for someone else and not loving your job… if you’re not loving what you’re doing every day… if you wish you had more time, more money, more freedom and more success, this may be for you.
It’s important for you to hear from James, but first, here is the critical missing link to achieving your dreams:
THE NUMBER ONE THING THAT KEEPS YOU FROM LIVING YOUR DREAMS:
This tends to afflict Baby Boomers more than Generation X or Y and Millennials, but it’s a barrier of entry for many people.
The number one thing that keeps most people from living their dreams is belief: a lack of belief in themselves.
Most of us can imagine how we’d like to be and how we’d like to live our lives, but there’s often a disconnect from actually imagining ourselves as having the potential to achieve that. So too often people never really start. And, for those who do start, there are just as many who can’t sustain that belief through the ups and downs, or are inflexible to adapting to changing times, and so dreams fade, dissipate and die scattered on the winds of broken dreams.
The more dust collects on the reams of our dreams, the more separated we become from them and the less likely we are to open them up and set them free to be.
The more we distance ourselves from our dreams, the more we distance ourselves from the essence of who we really are.
So we’re sharing this how-to guide to achieve your dreams to help you jumpstart that process.
We are fans of visionary author and entrepreneur extraordinaire, James Altucher. I look forward to his emails and enjoy his podcast and books. If you signed up to keep up with Boomers Reinvented via our website, then you will have also received the free eBook version of The Choose Yourself Stories, which James generously gifted for us to share with you when you sign up for Boomers Reinvented updates.
In the Choose Yourself Guide to Wealth, by James Altucher, he says:
“Ideas are the Currency of the Twenty-First Century”
One of my favorite well-known quotes from Alice in Wonderland by Lewis Carroll is: “‘Why, sometimes I’ve believed as many as six impossible things before breakfast!”
Too many people wait for inspiration. Don’t wait.
Too many people wait for inspiration. Don’t wait for the muse to strike… don’t wait for an inspired idea… don’t wait until you feel ready, confident or inspired… don’t wait for the tyranny of being chosen. Just start moving forward in daily steady steps in the direction of your dreams, Choose yourself, get started, learn something new daily and inspiration will follow.
The root definition of inspiration is inhalation, and inhalation connects with learning… a taking in of vital energy. We learn, connect with ideas in the pause, then exhale into life via activity and implementation.
I’ve found that ideas and creativity are the out breath of learning and growth.
Bringing them to life is the challenge, and yet even that gets easier with practice, as James can attest from the experience of succeeding, failing and succeeding at his numerous varied endeavors.
James says, “This is not a self-help book. It’s just exactly what I did for myself.”
“I know it worked for me. I had ideas first, wealth second. It only worked in that order.” James Altucher
We’ve written a review on his other book: Choose Yourself, Be Happy, Make Millions, Live the Dream which USA Today named among the 12 Best Business Books of All Time. More recently we’ve enjoyed—and benefit from—The Choose Yourself Guide to Wealth by James Altucher.
If you’re at all interested in the concept of investing in yourself, being your own boss and taking your life to the next level of creativity and prosperity, this book should really set you on the right track.
You will likely also really enjoy James’ video or article titled Death of the Employee. It sounds ominous but it’s very relevant for so many job holders in the world today, and it includes a heightened note of hope and possibility.
One thing about exercise and fitness is that it elevates our perspective and attitude and not only helps us to be healthier, happier and more motivated, but also more optimistic and inspired. In my experience entrepreneurship… doing work you love and having the opportunity to create and produce each day from your own ideas and imagination is exciting.
If you’re at all interested in what you could possibly do, even if you’ve never worked for yourself, perhaps you will find it as relevant and optimistic as we do.
If you’re already working for yourself but not enjoying the success you aspire to, this is also for you.
